We’re delighted to share MotorTrend’s latest feature on the Kamm 912C, a Porsche restomod like no other. You can read the full article here: MotorTrend – The $460,000 Kamm 912C Is Porsche’s Underdog at Its "Less Is More" Best.
Unlike the crowded 911 restomod scene, the 912C dares to be different. Lightweight, beautifully engineered, and joyously analog, it shows that less really can give you more. With a curb weight under 1,541 lbs and 182 hp from a reimagined 2.0L flat-four, it embodies purity of driving experience over raw numbers.
At BDN Automotive, we are proud to have played a key role in bringing this vision to life. Our team was responsible for the powertrain electronics and software development that help transform the classic Porsche 616 engine into the thoroughly modern Kamm 616. More than 200 virtual iterations, several hours of engine and chassis dyno testing, and a proper electronic throttle EFI system with a road-legal standalone ECU and PDU all contribute to an engine that is true to its heritage yet ready for today’s drivers.
The result? A sports car that’s engaging, balanced, and uncompromisingly lightweight—an underdog that proves engineering integrity and innovative thinking can outshine excess.
We’re honored to collaborate with Kamm and its visionary founder, Miki Kázmér, alongside an exceptional team of craftsmen and engineers who share our belief in pushing boundaries while respecting heritage. The Kamm 912C is more than just a car—it’s a celebration of engineering passion, attention to detail, and the timeless joy of driving.
